A Real Madrid first team star has rejected a contract offer from the club according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources.
Ferland Mendy was bought from Lyon for a fee of $52 million (€48 million) in 2019 after being personally requested by then-head coach Zinedine Zidane as a replacement for the aging Marcelo.
While the Brazilian fled to Greece, and is now back in his homeland at boyhood club Fluminense, following the 2022 Champions League final win over Liverpool, Mendy didn't truly make the left back spot his own for some time thanks to a slew of injuries.
